Mumbai hosts Gitanjali Asia Cup Polo
Annual Sports Event cum Lifestyle Extravaganza attended by city’s glitterati
Mumbai, 30th March 2013: Gitanjali Asia Cup Polo embodied the sport’s beauty, spirit and excellence and was graced by members of royal families, socialites and celebrities. In addition to the thrilling spectacle of watching a closely fought Polo match, truly the Sport of Kings, the guests were also treated to a cultural evening featuring a high profile fashion show by upcoming star of the fashion fraternity, Nachiket Barve and models showcasing the latest collection from leading jewellery brands Envi, Nizam & True Platinum. The match was played between Amateur Rider’s Club and International Polo team. The winning team, International Polo Team were presented the trophy by Mr. Mehul Choksi, CMD Gitanjali Group and Bollywood Diva and Brand Ambassador Diya Diamonds Celina Jaitley.
Guests included Maharaj Narendra Singh of Jaipur, Celina Jaitley, Tara Sharma, Sophia Hayat, Queenie Dhody, Nisha Jamwal and international polo players Johnny Lynn, LeRoux Henry and Abhimanyu Pathak.
The Asia Cup Polo event is already a part of the International calendar with the inaugural event in Jaipur being earlier this year. Subsequently, similar events will be held in London, Zurich and Dubai with further cities being added to the calendar next year.

In the second consecutive year hospitality partner Four Seasons and Lufthansa German Airlines extended their support for the Asia Polo Cup. The brands see this as an extension of their brand philosophy and also an opportunity for them to interact with their key clients and other affluent guests present. Guests had an brilliant feel of the ambience with Kanchi Design doing up the VIP area in some of her trademark designs and themes.
Gitanjali Group also created bespoke trophies for the event.
Other partners include ‘100 years’ who are a global healthcare company and Polistas will again be the official clothing sponsors having partnered the Asia Cup Polo International Day since its launch in London in 2007. MINI Cooper was the associate sponsor for the event.
