Fancy Colored Diamonds to Feature in Sotheby’s Sale in Hong Kong
A selection of blue, pink, yellow and colorless diamonds, Burmese rubies, Colombian emeralds, Kashmir sapphires, natural pearls and jadeite jewelry will feature at Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Spring Sale in Hong Kong on April 8.
The sale will take place in Hall 5 of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center and will offer 330 lots with a presale value in excess of $65 million.
“This season, we are thrilled to present a varied selection of beautiful colored diamonds including The Blushing Gold – a majestic yellow diamond and pink diamond ring, and The Regalia – a stellar pair of pink diamond earrings, both great treasures recently exhibited at the Royal Kensington Palace,” said Quek Chin Yeow, deputy chairman and head of the Jewellery Department at Sotheby’s Asia.
The “Blushing Gold” is a 13.10-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond and pink diamond ring, with a pre-sale value of $900,000-$1.15 million. Recovered at the Argyle mine in Western Australia, the ring’s purplish pink diamonds contrast the sunshine hue of an emerald-cut yellow diamond.
The Regalia, features a pair of 4.42-carat and 4.24-carat fancy pink diamond pendent earrings. They have a presale value of $1.9-$2.3 million.
Some spectacular colored gemstones are on sale as well. They include a 19.54-carat cushion-shaped Colombian emerald mounted on a diamond ring. It is estimated to sell at between $1 million and $1.5 million
Also on sale is a natural, unheated 7.68-carat Kashmir sapphire mounted on a diamond ring by Harry Winston, with a presale estimate of $700,000-$830,000.
